The main function of the Information and Communications Technology Services (ICTS) is the provision of comprehensive information, communications and learning technology services to the Centre’s staff, individual learners and institutional clients.
Functional responsibilities
Learning objectives:
The candidate will take an active role within ICTS and across teams to support designing, implementing, and improving data management and analysis to enable data quality, report and evidence-based decision making. In particular, the intern will:
- Develop an understanding of the Centre’s data ecosystem, including data governance, data flows, and reporting frameworks.
- Gain practical experience in data management, including data cleaning, validation, integration, and documentation.
- Strengthen analytical skills by contributing to data analysis and visualization activities supporting monitoring and reporting needs.
- Learn how to design and improve dashboards and reports tailored to different stakeholders and needs (digital accessibility).
- Explore the latest developments in AI supporting data analysis.
- Gain experience working in a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment within an international organization, collaborating with different teams
Internship Terms of Reference:
Under the overall supervision of the CIO, the intern will provide her/his contribution to assist the Centre in:
- Supporting data quality improvement initiatives, including reviewing datasets and contributing to standardization and digital accessibility efforts.
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to improve accessibility and usability of information.
- Contributing to the development of a data governance framework and the documentation of data processes, data dictionaries, and metadata.
- Supporting small-scale data automation or integration initiatives aimed at streamlining workflows.
- Evaluating potential applications of AI/GenAI technologies to support data analysis, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives promoting data-driven culture across the Centre.
Qualifications required
EducationEnrolled on a graduate or postgraduate course or recently completed graduate or postgraduate studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
LanguagesGood working knowledge of English. Additional knowledge of one of the working languages of the Centre will be considered an asset.
IT SkillsKnowledge of data analysis tools (such as Excel, Power BI or Tableau)
Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouse would be an asset
Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Python would be an asset
Familiarity with AI end-user platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude or similar tool
